Joseph P. Fisher's Research and Writing Interests
Joe’s research routinely pulls together strains of psychoanalytic theory, disability studies, and composition theory. His academic specializations are in twentieth and twenty-first century American literature with a particular focus on addiction narratives.
Since completing his Ph.D., Joe has published on a variety of popular and academic topics, ranging from examinations of indie music gender politics to higher education employment ethics. He also nursed a several-years-long fascination with the television series Breaking Bad, at one point writing and publishing approximately 9,200 words on the series for PopMatters.
Currently, Joe is preparing a project on the intersection of disability and athletics. He calls dibs on the title “On the DL: Athletes, Athletics, and Disability.”
Joe is also an experienced web developer.
